Special projects
Investment worth around £80m will be undertaken at the University to develop facilities, provide new buildings and refurbish existing sites. The University of Northampton 'Strategic Vision' (PDF 835KB), outlines future headline projects on both Avenue and Park Campus.
Future plans include the extension and remodelling of the existing Maidwell building on Avenue Campus. The facilities will feature a welcoming environment with excellent social amenities alongside first class exhibition, performance, screening and studio spaces. This together with improved learning and teaching facilities will create the best possible environment for educational excellence.
The University intends to develop a state-of-the-art sports and health centre on its Park Campus, to benefit and be enjoyed by both the University and public alike. London's tremendous achievement in winning the Olympic city venue bid for 2012 has lent a whole new dimension to these plans and the University is actively looking for strategic partners to help take this project forward.
Scholarships and bursaries
Scholarships are vital for higher education today, they are important to the students who are successful in receiving a scholarship, to the University and to regional and national industry and commerce.
The University of Northampton is committed to widening participation and making resources available to provide an opportunity for access to higher education for students from all sections of the community. Each year many students are helped financially by a range of scholarships and bursaries offered through The University of Northampton Foundation.
