Diana Princess of Wales was buried at nearby Althorp House in Althorp which is a 10-15 minute drive away from The University of Northampton. Northampton is also the home of sports teams such as The Saints Rugby Union team, the Cobblers football team and is near to sporting arenas such as Silverstone and Rockingham Speedway.
